Geol.1928.

SANTOSHKUMAR RAY: b. 1908, d.1976: alumnus: MSc 1931:  PG Lecturer 1938: PC faculty member 1944-1965: HOD 1958-65: subsequently HOD, Utkal University: Emeritus Scientist  PC  1969-73: made important contributions in  particularly metamorphic petrology, as also in other branches: author of several textbooks: compiled ‘Fifty Years’ Progress of Geology in India, published by the Indian Science Congress Association: initiated, encouraged and set the pace of modern researches in the department: author of several textbooks.
